About

Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School is a Horace Mann “in-district” charter school, part of the Boston Public Schools. We opened our doors in 2012, and we now serve 325 students in grades K1 - 5. Founded by BPE and the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, Dudley Street School works with local partners to ensure all children in the Dudley neighborhood have access to a high-quality education. Dudley Street School is a BPE Teaching Academy, and part of a preK-12 neighborhood school pathway that includes Dearborn STEM Academy. Modeled after teaching hospitals, BPE Teaching Academies immerse aspiring Boston teachers in the best practices of the field through Boston Teacher Residency. Our teacher residents work side by side with experienced Dudley Street School teachers to implement research-based practices, examine their impact on student learning and refine instruction until every child is successful.
