City of Boston Planning Department VIRTUAL PUBLIC MEETING OCT ZONING FOR BWSC 8 PARKING LOTS 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Register: bit.ly/BWSCLotsZoning Toll Free: (833) 568-8864 Meeting ID: 161 454 8481 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the zoning amendments is to enable future phases of redevelopment of the Boston Water & Sewer Commission (BWSC) parking lots in Roxbury. This development will include affordable housing at a range of income levels and other community amenities as contemplated in the RFP released in spring 2024 as part of the City's commitment to use public land for public good. The draft zoning amendments are just one step in the process of redevelopment that started more than a year and a half ago in March 2023, with the disposition process and proposal selection, and will continue with Article 80 review of each potential project. Redevelopment of the parking lots will occur in phases. Phase 1, which includes 45 new affordable homeownership units on the northwestern parking lot, is currently under Article 80 Small Project Review as of September 6, 2024.
