On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Jeremiah E. Burke High School voted to honor the signifi- cant contributions made by the former Head of the School Dr. Albert Holland. The Jeremiah E. Burke High School Site Council, Faculty, and Staff have recognized the dedication and work achieved under the leadership of Dr. Albert Holland, who retired in 2008 by naming The Gymnasium after Dr. Albert Holland Athletic Complex. Dr. Holland holds his five-year service at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School as his crowning achievement as a Headmaster. During his time at "The Burke", Dr. Holland came to understand the meaning of the African Proverb "It takes a village to raise a child". Since his retirement in 2008, Dr. Holland has continued to work with Boston Public Schools as a Mentor/Coach to many BPS Principals. The School Site Council and the faculty and staff would like to convene a hearing on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Jeremiah E.
