The Dudley Branch has a large collection of books covering the African American experience since before the Civil War. Some of the topics covered are the slave trade, the Underground Railroad, the Harlem Renaissance, and the Civil Rights Movement. There is also an extensive collection of books about African American music and musicians including gospel, blues, jazz and soul.
