A woman of vision and action, she guided the transformation of knowledge and opportunity into empowerment, especially among girls and young women of color. Irvienne was a trailblazer, mentor, teacher, and tireless advocate who saw health and racial equity as human rights. She taught us to be brave and to advocate for others.
